Here a little, There a little 1/23/17

What a tender mercy of the Lord that I have the opportunity to be out here.
I am fighting for Truth with all my might. I feel the love of our Savior overwhelm me in the midst of trials... Believe it or not, haha, but these fiery trials have nothing really to do with the work but with my own weaknesses. Heavenly Father has such mercy and lovingkindness with me that He guides me and helps me every tiny step of the way. I am grateful for the person that I am learning to become, through the power of His Atonement.
In Sunday School, we talked about how the war in heaven was won through the power of the Blood of the Savior- the expiación hadn´t even happened yet at that point, but still the testimony of what He would do stretched throughout eternity and shatters the bounds of death and hell. A pretty cool thing to think about, if you think about it.
Last Tuesday was SOOOOO AWEESSOOMMME!!! Haha, I got to go and welcome the other missionaries that got here in Argentina at the same time as me as they entered the mission field. What a joyous reunion it was! BWAAA!!! Haha, that´s about as good as I can get at expressing how awesome it was. Elder Bills and I got to the mission center by tren earlier in the day to wait for them, and so when they came in as a big group I was there and (kinda scaring me honestly) they yelled ¨ELDER CHOCK!!!¨ And I got a bunch of huge, crushing hugs. Mostly from Elder Nance. He is so awesome- he´s got a bunch of scholarships for basketball waiting for him at home. It was so cool to talk with him- he´s had some cool experiences, man he is just a big, humble, loving guy. Anyway, I could talk for hours about my MTC pals- but here they are in all their glory and splendor. (With their new Papi/Mami (entrenador) standing behind them.)

From left to right, Elder Quinde (it was actually the first time I met him, he´s from Peru- like all the rest of the coolest people, it seems haha) and Elder Joseph, worked on a farm all his life and I believe lived somewhere in Utah, Me and Elder Bills behind me, I forgot that Hermana´s name, then Hermana Mangu from New Zealand (she speaks mauri and is super awesome), Hermana Foster from Idaho who plays volleyball and is super awesome, Elder Hales who does crazy jujitsu and stuff and is just a great, hardworking, humble guy, Elder Luna who was in my first trio and has a pretty cool story of how he got here, and Elder Nance who you can´t tell but is huge. These people are a huge blessing in my life.
So we got together and I went through the day1 training again, then I got to meet Presidente Nuñez for the FIRST TIME!!! Haha, yeah. Had an interview with him and... Wow, it´s very obvious that he´s a man called of God, and he takes the missionary work seriously with all the weight and sanctity that it should be taken. He used the story of Ammón to give me his advice. Haha my favorite part was when he said that we don´t give wives to all the missionaries who go on missions. His inspired counsel has really helped me out though.
By the way, I got left behind when they left his house, so that was funny.

This week was wildly successful and yet also seriously difficult.

We found this AWESOME investigator named Amelia and su familia, ellos son Dante(Esposo) y Jesús. They´re from Peru, and even though they´re building their house and they don´t have a lot but she always gives us a ton of delicious things anyway. Like bread and jam (both things a little pricy- yeah and peanut butter is pretty much unheard of it´s a delicacy) and these coconut popsicles and her own homemade CHICHA MORADA... Oh that stuff is delicious.
She accepted it all first, and she was already reading the Book of Mormon every day, and then we did a repass with the rest of the family and Dante said- I know this comes from God, you guys are welcome to teach me the rest. Very well, Dante, that we will. :) They accepted to be baptized! I´m excited to be teaching them, super faithful, like pioneer style. But there are some difficult things for sure, maybe I´ll tell you guys more about it next week, but if you guys could pray that we´ll be inspired to help them, I know that they have the faith in them the factor that it depends on is whether Elder Bills and I teach with the Spirit of God.

One of the coolest lessons we had this week was with this guy named Nicholas. It was one of those moments where we dropped all to administer to the one, what special love our Father has for him... But, man, he is wrestling with some devastating things for sure. I think he could use some prayers too.

Julia is doing really well, we finally found her and she told us her actual number instead of the fake ones that her family gave us. She is really amazing, but she´s pretty old and is having trouble remembering all the lessons- I think it´s really frustrating and embarrassing for her, she really just want´s to be baptized and be doing it already, and that´s what we want to but we need to make sure she understands.

Man, tons of other awesome things happened this week, but I feel like I should stop right there!
Love you all, and in case you couldn´t tell, I am having a MIRACULOUS experience out here. I know He lives, and I´m learning to love as He did.
Aloha!
