Robado otra vez... XD 1/30/17

This week was SUPER HARD. But I´m feeling really happy about it, haha. The missionary life is the funnest life there is, that´s for sure! Haha. I feel so happy.
Anyways, so Amelia (she´s one of our investigators with rock solid Pioneer style fe) was doing super awesome. Accepted the leccion sobre la restauracion dos veces, the secundo porque queríamos a enseñar a su marido to give him the chance to accept too. Then she came with us to a noche de hogar (her kapo son wasn´t able to come because he got this huge sore on his leg) and we taught her el plan de salvacion with the help of the familia Atencio (ël es the best, he just got back from a mission he´s from venezuela, his wife is the daughter of our area seventy, he´s a really powerful teacher and just a great guy) and she said that it was the happiest she had ever felt in her life. She was really feeling the spirit, it was so awesome! She knew it was true and it was awesome. But... So, she said she would be baptized the 4th of febrero, pero then she said to us that she can´t because she decided she wants her son to do the first communion and catechism in la iglesia catolica, and she doesn´t know when that´s gonna be but she´s gonna wait to get baptized until after then, because she would have to miss one sunday for her son´s communion and stuff... I wasn´t sure we understood all the way, Hno. Atencio was catolico antes de su conversión, and so we hoped we could help explain to her and testify to her- we asked her to pray to God about the baptism date, seemed like things were going alright, like I said she felt really happy because the Spirit was speaking to her... But then on Sábado, she called us and canceled our cita and said she and her son weren´t coming to church and that she might not seguir because she doesn´t understand el libro de mormón or something...!!! Yikes, we don´t know what happened but we have faith. We could use some prayers to try to help discern what she needs, we have a cita tomorrow. It would be so sad after accepting with such faith and feeling the change that the restored gospel brings for her not to seguir... Ay ay ay. Don´t know if there´s problems con su marido or something like that.
Julia is doing awesome. And my theories about her catholic family doing all they can to tear her away and keep her from following in this newfound faith that she´s obtained were confirmed. It was a little awkward the way her daughter came up to us and kinda yelled at us, but we just calmly took it and kept teaching Julia, who BY THE WAY... Has a baptism date for this sábado!!! We practiced the interview with her two times, she struggles a little bit with her memory, but I know God is helping her to remember all that she needs. It´s miraculous. Anyways, Sunday we were set to go pick her up- then this guy on a moto with a pistola came and robbed us of our celular. We almost just kept walking, it was so ridiculous, but we didn´t want to risk getting shot. But it was so dumb. That phone was so cheap, the only worth it had was the numbers of our investigadores y miembros. I decided to act on the scriptures and pray for the chorro, against my frustrations. Anyway, it made us late to get Julia because the miembro that was coming to pick us up couldn´t communicate with us and stuff. So when we get to Julia´s house, she´s nowhere to be found! It was super distressing. We finally en tristeza went to church (we missed the Santa Cena too) hoping that she had left on her own like before, because we hadn´t got there on time. Well, she wasn´t there at the capilla. in fact none of our investigadores were. Again. I just sat my head on the bench. The miembro at my side asked if I was alright and I didn´t have anything to say. I just felt so sad, I felt bad we hadn´t picked Julia up on time. After a few painful minutes, lo and behold but who walks in... JULIAAA!!! I was so happy to see the poor viejita, she seemed a little exhausted. I guess she had gotten lost, and probably was confused why we hadn´t got there on time. But she got there- what a milagro es. She listened to the last talk and we had classes and everything, it was awesome for her. She´s gonna be so ready for this amazing first step in her eternal progression. Wow, what joy. I know the diablo esta luchando contra ella, como siempre, but she´s gonna lograrlo!
We missionaries taught the 3rd hour, talking about how important the miembros are to missionary work (yeah pretty much we missionaries are only a teeny part of it) it was super awesome! I was a little nervous but I ended up teaching really well in castellano. This lady came up to me and asked where I was from, then was surprised and told me that I conjugate the verbos perfectly. Someone better tell that to my high school spanish teacher, Señora McConnell. ;)
I´m super grateful for mi compañero Elder Bills. He helps me a lot. He is a super stellar guy. Just so the fam knows I invited him to Hawaii, haha. God definitely blesses us in special ways by giving us good friends and family, the miracle of people that love.
These pics are some Elder Bills took over the last few weeks. The last two are of Elder Smith´s Birthday and of this banana I found in the freezer... Apparently almost two years old. Yeah, cleaning out that freezer was an adventure. Sometimes Elders sure are weird.
